I know it's been a minute, but I am back from Thanksgiving break [that was absolutely delightful] and I can't wait until Christmas break now! Here's a little recap of my break....
When I got out of school on Tuesday, I called Mom to set up a date with her. We went to see Catching Fire. It may be the best movie I have seen this year. Which isn't saying much, because I think I have only seen about 4 other movies. The last time I went to the theater, I had a date with myself. I know, pathetic, but I actually enjoy that. I saw This Is 40, and almost peed my pants it was so funny. Catching Fire was WAY better than the first. I think because the budget on this must have been tremendously more than that of Hunger Games. Jennifer Lawrence is still smoking hot. And I think Elizabeth Banks deserves an Oscar Nomination for her portrayal of Effie Trinket. If you haven't seen it, go tonight.
Wednesday I played stylist to my Dad. He and I don't necessarily see eye to eye when it comes to fashion. Most other ways I am like him more than I care to admit, but that's not a bad thing. He hasn't bought a new suit in about 20 years. The style now is way more tailored and fitted, and his suit looks like a kid's outfit who's mother thinks he will "grow into it soon.." So we fixed him up with a great new Charcoal suit, great new tweet pants, a Camel hair sports coat [that I wanted for myself really badly, but that day was about him--until Mom decided to completely refurnish the living room]. This all came about because my best friend is getting married in two weeks, and he needs to look especially dapper. He says he will have to beat the women off of him, and Mom said that's her job.
Thursday I woke up a little fuzzy due to a long night with my friends who were in town. But I drug myself out of bed in time to make it to my parents by 11:30 for the noon lunch. I don't know if you recall my telling the story about my Aunt falling asleep in her plate a few years ago [Bible--it happened], but she made a return this year--an hour late, with only one swagger lash on because she ran out of glue for the other. She is certainly one of a kind. My 11-year-old cousin only eats 3 things: Sausage Toasters from sonic, fried pepperonis, and Lucky Charms--the epitome of health... Mom asked if he wanted to try some turkey, he asked if it was "Boar's Head Cajun Turkey." Her response was "just eat your Lucky Charms."
After I left the Circus, I went home to finish Breaking Bad--Season 2. It is just mind blowing. I can't get enough.
Friday was the celebration of my friend's [Mendy] birthday that I made a homemade strawberry cake that was unreal, as per usual. I watched the Razorbacks loose the NINTH straight game that we SO could have won. I know mostly women read this, but after Auburn beat Bama I was thrilled, only to become pissed to find out they were ranked #4 in the BCS standings, which is complete bullshit. I digress. Also a long night of Karaoke to Garth Brooks that was live on CBS. I have always said he is one of my top five musicians of all time. Friday night was no different. I just wish he would have finished the songs he started. But I absolutely loved the covers and stories of how some of the greats influenced his life.

Yesterday was my previous church's 100 year anniversary celebration. It was really nice, and I saw a bunch of people that I haven't seen in a while. I also picked out a Christmas Tree. I am letting it fall a bit before I put the lights on. It literally looks like it still has the net wrapped around it. But my house smells so, so good.
Now today, on my menu is Air Soup because I have eaten like it's the only way into Heaven for five days straight--and I have a new suit I have to fit in for the wedding, and 6 weeks from today I will be in Anguilla. So I need to workout like it's the only way into Heaven from now until mid-January.
Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving!
until next time...
